Music

My music journey began at the age of 4, and since then, it has developed into one of my biggest passions. I am so grateful to my gurus who have brought me this far and have helped me discover such a beautiful art form. I have been learning Carnatic vocal music since the age of four. I started learning the veena last year, and the guitar for the past month. I have also learnt the 24 ashtapatis along with a few bhajans from my grandmother! Music has come to mean a lot to me over the last few years and has become my favourite medium of expression.  It even helps calm me, and just the fact that there is so much to learn, so many intricacies, techniques and styles always keeps me intrigued. I think what I like most about music is that even without knowing the meaning of what I am singing most of the time, I can still feel an emotion or a connection. Music never fails to put me in a good mood, and anytime I practice it or even listen to someone else, it gives me such an amazing feeling that makes me feel like I can create some of my own. I hope I always keep in touch with it and keep learning more and more about it, I'm really excited to spend at least the next two years of my schooling to learn more about different genres and increase the depth of my knowledge in Carnatic music and learn the Veena to the best of my ability.  I'm also happy that I get to track all my different musical journeys through this website!
